Chobani Recalls Yogurt with Code 16-012

Chobani has changed the “voluntary withdrawal” of their Greek yogurt to “voluntary recall”. Affected products (in several flavors) have the code 16-012 and expiration dates from 9-11-13 to 10-07-13.

If you have some of the affected yogurt, you can contact Chobani’s Customer Loyalty Team at

Apparently mold has been found in some of the yogurt packaged at Chobani’s Idaho plant. Customers have reported bulging containers, bubbly/fizzy yogurt and a sharp after-taste.

According to a spokesperson, the Food and Drug Administration should be notified about this type of problem. Chobani initially contacted their retail outlets individually, asking them to remove the product from store shelves. The FDA is looking into the situation to be sure the problem has been rectified and consumers adequately warned.
