I’m starting to believe! I was not impressed with the University of Florida’s win over Vanderbilt last week and thought the Gators’ #2 BCS ranking was too high. But in yesterday’s 44-11 thrashing of (then) #7 South Carolina at The Swamp in Gainesville, the Gators looked like a team heading to a championship.
Unlike the previous two games, Florida had a decent lead over SC at halftime. They looked even better in the second half, as has been their pattern this season. Next Saturday will test the staying power of the Gators’ new, stronger first half as they play #10 Georgia in Jacksonville, Florida. If Florida wins, they nail down the SEC East title and a spot in the conference championship game. Although Florida is statistically favored to win, this annual game in neutral territory is always a tough one.
